Jev cost calculator
Estimate your monthly Jev bill from four inputs. Runs entirely in your browser.
How the estimate works
TypeSafe AI bills input tokens only (a token is roughly three-quarters of a word); output is free. For each item, the input is the item itself plus the text of your questions.
The calculator multiplies that by your volume and the list price of $0.042 per million tokens (checked 22 September 2026, source (opens in a new tab)). Gateways and promotional windows may bill differently.
For developers: the formula
- Batched:
state + questions × question tokens, once per item. - Unbatched:
questions × (state + question tokens).
Jev's tokenizer isn't published. Run a few real requests and read usage.input_tokens in the response to calibrate.
Common questions
- How is Jev priced?
- $0.042 per million input tokens; output is free. Input is the item you send plus the text of every question. A token is roughly three-quarters of a word.
- How much does Jev cost per 1,000 items?
- For an email-length item with three batched questions, about 2.4¢ per 1,000 at list price.
- Why does batching matter?
- Batched, Jev reads the input once and answers every question against it. Unbatched, the input is re-sent with each question, which multiplies the largest part of the cost.
